AND THE WINNER IS....
Congratulations to 8-year-old Alex Horbacz! Alex wrote this winning entry telling us why HIS POPS is TOPS!
"My Dad is the greatest. He takes a vacation day just to be with me. Every time I am at his house we play whatever I want. I love to duel. He will duel with me. He takes me places like MacDonald’s and lets me play sometimes a long time. The longest day of the year is when I can't play with dad. He takes me to the park and teaches me to tie my shoes. He lets me pick the restaurant when we go out. On one day of the week he will pick me up from school and we have The no girls allowed club where it is just me and dad playing. He is a great cook. He will cook my favorite rice. He takes me to the zoo and we make animal sounds and go see the snakes. Mommy won't do that. When we go to the store sometimes he lets me pick a prize. My dad is the best. He is going to take me swimming on his day off and I won't go to daycare that day. He loves mommy too. He doesn't cuddle that is what mommy does but he plays the piano and I get to sing. He is a cool dad. Would you like to meet him someday?"
Congratulations to Alex and his POPS Tom... our TOP POPS 2008!!
Thank you to all who entered the 2008 TOP POPS contest!
From the day POPS opened its doors along Route 66, it made national news, with its landmark architecture, 66-foot-tall pop bottle, and stunningly diverse menu of soda pop. The sales were off the chart from the first week, and customers kept coming back for more. Now as the soda pop shop, café, gas station, and convenience store enters its first summer of business, it is introducing another first: a soda kiosk, allowing customers to send unique sodas anywhere in the United States.
On Tuesday, May 27, POPS brought the soda kiosk online. This isn’t a rudimentary order site. The colorful touch screen allows POPS guests to choose to custom order from more than 700 types of soda, and have them immediately shipped via FedEx.
POPS customers have marveled at the variety of sodas from which to choose: from Boylan’s Black Cherry to NuGrape, soda connoisseurs can find it here. Many have asked for a way to customize a case of POP to send it home, and now POPS General Manager, Marty Doepke is thrilled to show them how.
The first customer to order a shipment was Oklahoma’s First Lady Kim Henry, who sent some Dublin Dr. Pepper and an assortment of Cream Sodas to her nephew in Kansas.
In February, the newest icon on Route 66 gained a bit of star power when the production crew for the Gordman's TV commercial picked POPS as a film location! The Gordman's commercials are scheduled to start airing on March 31st!

The cast and crew of TNT’s new hit show Saving Grace dropped into POPS recently to enjoy a brunch buffet and sample some of our signature sodas and hospitality.
